Tickets, Seating, and Parking
Number of Graduation Tickets
Every attempt will be made to provide as many guest tickets as possible to each graduate. Each student will receive graduation tickets from their campus. The number of tickets for each ceremony may be different.
Where and When to Pick Up Tickets
Graduates will pick up the tickets for themselves and their families and guests at their school. Each school will designate a specific date, time and location for the graduation ticket pick up event. Graduates will be made aware of the details about the ticket pick up event.
Graduates: Be on the lookout for a notification from your school about when you should pick up your tickets and make plans to attend your ticket pick up event.
If graduates do not pick up their tickets for graduation, guests WILL NOT be able to enter the graduation venue without a ticket.
Entrance and Seating
Students will enter GLF through the west market entrance. All graduates will pass through a GLF security check point immediately upon entering GLF. Parents and guests are welcome to enter the venue through the Toyota Southwest Entry (see map). All guests will self-select their own seating with a printed general admission ticket for any available seats on the main concourse. There are approximately 10,000 general admission seats for each graduation ceremony to select from in Sections 101 to 127. Parents are encouraged to arrive promptly as each ceremony will begin at the designated time. Every guest entering GLF must have a printed general admission ticket. The only exception is for infants under 36 inches tall who can sit on an adult's lap during the entire ceremony without an entrance ticket.
Parking
All graduates will be permitted entrance to GLF 90 minutes prior to the start of their ceremony. Parents and guests will be permitted to enter GLF 60 minutes prior to the start of each ceremony.
All parking at GLF has been pre-paid by GPISD. No parent or student will need to pay to park within the GLF parking areas. Students and guests are to park in Lot R, Lot Q, or Lot B (see map). Lot A is reserved for campus staff, district leadership, and the Board of Trustees.
Preparing For The Big Day
Caps and Gowns
Graduates must pick up their caps and gowns on the dates sent from their school. Families should work together to remind their graduate about picking up the cap and gown. Any grad who did not order a cap and gown should visit www.goldengraduation.com or contact Brad Golden with Jostens by calling 817-461-6837 or by emailing him at brad.golden@jostens.com.
Graduation Regalia
In addition to the required cap, gown, and tassel, students may only wear cords, stoles, medals, or approved regalia awarded/approved by the Grand Prairie Independent School District.
There are no exceptions to the approved graduation regalia; however, there are other campus senior recognition activities (example: Senior Walk) at which other regalia can be worn.
Arrival and Entrance Time
All graduates will be permitted entrance to GLF 90 minutes prior to the start of their ceremony. Parents and guests will be permitted to enter GLF 60 minutes prior to the start of each ceremony.
